Supporting spaces that bring communities together

Funding in Action

As 2026 gets underway, we’re proud to be supporting charities that bring people together, offer hope, and provide practical tools to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.

Through the cardfactory Foundation’s Local Community Fund, we’ve recently awarded £5,000 grants to three inspiring organisations. Each plays a vital role in strengthening their local community, whether by supporting families with additional needs, helping parents through neonatal challenges, or creating safe spaces for young people to thrive.

Little Miracles Charity

Supporting families of children with additional needs

Little Miracles Charity supports families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions, helping them access inclusive activities, support and respite when it’s needed most.

Louise Evans, Head of Income Generation at Little Miracles, shared: “Little Miracles Charity supports local families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

With the support of the cardfactory Foundation, Little Miracles will be there for families who are struggling. We will make sure no one has to face what can be a lonely and scary time alone, and that children can simply have fun and be themselves.”

The funding will help Little Miracles continue to reduce isolation and create joyful, shared experiences for families who often face significant challenges.

Spoons Charity

Supporting families through neonatal care

Spoons Charity provides compassionate, peer-led support to families navigating neonatal care across Greater Manchester. By connecting parents with volunteers who have lived experience, Spoons helps families feel understood and supported at a time when they are often overwhelmed.

Kirsten Mitchell from Spoons said: “This grant will help us support more families with sick or premature babies across Greater Manchester. Your support will allow us to reach even more families this year and grow our volunteer lived-experience peer support programme.

Ensuring more parents can connect with someone who truly understands their journey helps reduce stress and isolation and increases confidence. We’re so grateful to cardfactory staff for choosing Spoons.”

The grant will enable Spoons to extend its reach and ensure more families receive emotional support during a critical period.

Cherry Tree Community Centre

Creating opportunities for young people in Beverley

Cherry Tree Community Centre provides advice, youth engagement and community support to help people in Beverley overcome challenges and thrive. A key focus of their work is supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Jo Ramsay, Centre Manager at Cherry Tree Community Centre, explained: “The grant will allow us to pay staff to open another evening per week at our youth hub. The young people who attend come from backgrounds of extreme poverty and disadvantage.”

Extending opening hours will allow the centre to reach more young people, providing safe, supportive spaces and positive opportunities when they are most needed.

Building stronger communities together

These organisations show how hope and progress grow when people come together, care is shared, and opportunities are accessible. We’re delighted to support Little Miracles Charity, Spoons Charity and Cherry Tree Community Centre, and many other local charities through our Local Community Fund, and we look forward to seeing the difference they continue to make.
